Hi Brian
I’ve just looked online and can see my points balance from 2015 to 2020 – it shows the points transferring from previous year. Perhaps it was a glitch on Anfi’s system when you were lookingI’m sure when I looked a few months back it did show before 2015 to around 2012 or earlier, so Anfi seem to have shortened the history but I can see a full transaction record from 2015 and the points transferring into 2015
It could be a good idea to do a screenshot now and again to keep a permanent record

08/05/2019 at 6:58 pm #40294Hi Gerry
I was looking at updating my original Gran Anfi points contract to add Pam and I as joint owners, and also Anfi have offered to bring in our resale Monte floating week into AVC (or perhaps the flex system? though they said AVC). We also have resale fixed weeks at Beach Club.
Did you get your weeks into AVC so you see them as points? – or how does it work in AVC?Did you have to give Anfi your certificates upfront? – as they are asking me to send them before they send me new contract.
The downsides of new contract appear to be the clauses about the (huge) penalty costs if you ever cancel the contract, and the new right for Anfi sales to have first right of refusal if you ever sell.

27/04/2019 at 3:27 pm #39647Hi Lorin
I’ve heard the 2b 2f before though like you am not sure what 2 f means – I’m sure Roger or Richard will know or be able to find out, though Roger is away at present – perhaps other members will know

17/04/2019 at 6:43 pm #39116We have applied a fix from our software provider and it is working so far – if anyone spots any issues please let me know
Brian
17/04/2019 at 2:34 pm #39101As at 2.30pm we have a fix at least for now whilst a more detailed technical investigation takes place – you ought to be able to edit and create adverts
12/04/2019 at 1:24 pm #38705Easyjet did release the dates from 27th October to 28th March yesterday – I booked a return flight in February from Gatwick for £150 each – base cost £40 each way plus speedyboarding & second hand luggage, and 23kg hold luggage.
We’ve found the speedyboarding does work very well.Easyjet do fly out early on Saturdays from Gatwick leaving at 7.25 though you are there by midday. They fly back at 12.35 which works well.
Norwegian fly out in afternoon and you arrive about 6.30pm and the flight back doesn’t land at Gatwick until nearly midnight, so the Easyjet times worked best for me.For those advertising rentals, worth keeping in mind that anyone renting can now book flights through past end of this year up to end of March.

03/04/2019 at 6:44 pm #38076that sounds like a good deal Robert and interesting that, if an airline changes the time enough to allow you to cancel, it is worth checking the current rate for the same flight before accepting the revised flight time.
You ought to send Mr O’Leary a thank you card for saving you £85 on same flight same seats 🙂Which survey is still not great on Ryanair though Pam like you has found them good before.

13/03/2019 at 3:40 pm #37117Thanks to all who attended the AGM or sent in apologies and voted. The draft minutes have been written up and are being checked by the committee and we will publish these shortly.
There was active discussion during the AGM on many topics including marketing the Club, the committee & resort reports, and implications of the new Anfi contracts.
The gala dinner included a raffle and we have donated £34 to Cancer Research UK from the raffle proceeds – well done to all those who bought tickets!

25/02/2019 at 7:36 pm #36374Hi Wolfgang
Even if denied Flex program access, it may be better in some ways for resale buyers to have fixed rather than floating. Currently a floating week has little resale value – whereas a fixed week has some value. I’m guessing the apartments Anfi assign are not the best weeks or location!!Recently Anfi appear to be offering members who have direct purchase and a resale floating (like me!!) to add in the the floating to AVC under “the weeks system” – whatever that means
Brian
25/02/2019 at 7:27 pm #36372that’s a huge penalty “hotel” cost as you say – if 49 years – say 400 euros per night – by 7 nights per year for 49 years = 137,200 Euros
And members will already have paid maintenance fees for the period they used, so this is a completely unfair charge. At best it ought to represent Anfi’s “lost” maintenance fees for duration of contract period. Though if contract is declared null and void one wonders how that cost can stand as there is then no contract!!
i.e.court declares contract null and void, and then Anfi try to claim costs under the contractCrazy!! This would definitely contravene UK legislation on several points

21/02/2019 at 7:20 pm #36174Hi Wolfgang
Thanks for feedback and very helpful – very worrying that Anfi are not following RDO code of conductThe termination cost as “hotel”, as you have highlighted is massive, and defies logic as the more weeks you’ve stayed at Anfi the more you pay. Someone terminating after 1 year only pays one years hotel (penalty) cost – in future say someone at 49 years from the 50 years would pay 49 years at hotel cost – I feel Anfi must have messed up on wording for this as penalises those who have stayed longest. For those of use who’ve owned since around 2000 – 2005 could be facing cost for 14 – 19 years.

21/02/2019 at 7:12 pm #36173Hi Alan
It is very much of concern that what seemed like a simple update names turns into much more complex situation. Wolfgang has covered the implications of Anfi’s contract changes.
I’m in similar situation with my sons and the main issues for me are the penalty costs if at some point in future we cancel the contract or it is declared null and void, and also giving Anfi first right of refusal – through a complicated process – if you wish to resellThe underlying week, albeit maybe bad apartment / bad week – I see as a small plus as floating or points have little or nil resale value
I’m sure under UK law the issues would be judged under the unfair contract terms and penalty cost provisions and would be on our side, but this is Spain

21/02/2019 at 6:58 pm #36172Have read that some of the shops opposite the main mall are now open, including a Spar
If anyone there soon could update with photos and latest on the shopping centre and the main development

11/02/2019 at 12:44 pm #35662Looking on Norwegian’s site they currently have direct flights from Gatwick listed up to January 2020 – reasonable prices other than around school holidays. Only direct flights are on Wednesdays and Saturdays, so doesn’t work so well on Monday changes unless you are prepared to stay over – option is flying via Madrid or another European airport.
There are, as many of members will know, a range of options to stay over from budget to more mid-market hotels and apartments. It can be a good chance to stay near Las Palmas, or another area of Gran Canaria. There has been recent news about Norwegian’s financial issues and fund raising – the site I’ve copied here has a number of news updates https://www.paddleyourownkanoo.com/.XFsyZ1z7Q2x
The site can be slow to load at times, but does give a series of recent articles on financial status and fund raising. If the link comes up with a “404 error”, just type “Norwegian” into the search box and a list of articles will come up – the two latest being about a near takeover from a secret bidder that fell through last last year, and the loss for last year was NOK 1,454 million ($169 million) on revenue of NOK 40 billionLet’s hope Norwegian do come back into profit, as I find them one of the best budget airlines and they have won numerous awards.

10/02/2019 at 7:25 pm #35623Off topic onto rip off parking prices – I did see Heathrow were so much more expensive that Gatwick when we went out in January. Maybe 50% more, but maybe OK for a week.
But looking for a longer booking if we go on a long haul trip later this year, about 6 weeks:-
– Heathrow valet parking £387
– Gatwick valet parking for same period £119
£270 extra for same service!!! – yet Heathrow claim how great a national hub airport they are! Absolutely ridiculous. We’ll be getting taxi there and back
And if you ever look at leaving Heathrow from one terminal and coming back to another, although they claim “great infrastructure”, it is nothing like Gatwick were you can easily go from north to south via monorail that runs every 5 minutes or so
How on earth did the government agree to 3rd runway at Heathrow when they are so costly and inefficient to passengers!!

06/02/2019 at 12:28 pm #35398We’ve just published the agenda and notes on resolutions on the AGM meeting page
Roger also recently sent a short email to all members who’ve have yet to let us know if they can attend, and if they can’t attend to fill in a voting slip. Thank you to everyone who has responded to date.
We really do need a few more members to help make the AGM a success, and would especially ask those members who are about an hour from Cirencester to consider attending, even if just for lunch and the AGM which will finish by 4.30p.m. We did move the meeting a little south from the last AGM to help get better regional coverage, so please consider if you can help!

02/02/2019 at 7:08 pm #35200Hi Alan
Thank you for the feedback – guess they were just trying to get your bank account details and then use them. I wonder how they got the Anfi details – perhaps part of any data breach Anfi had but won’t own up to!!!If you want us to take this up with Anfi via our committee reps, Roger and Richard, please forward the email but anonymise the account details – webmaster@anfiukmembers.co.uk
Kind regards, Brian
01/02/2019 at 12:31 pm #35149Hi Steve
good to know about the insurance company, and that they handle claims well, as I was looking for one to use this year when in Madeira as using Europcar with a high excess. Is the company Insurance 4 Car Hire as I couldn’t find Insurance 4 Hire online?
If it is the former one, one of my friends also recommended the same company and has like you used it for years.See website below which has the £42.99 deal

30/01/2019 at 10:25 pm #35086Hi Ian
Best to ask Anfi but Pam & I have been moved from Beach to Monte and vice versa, all very smoothly. A far as I know they’ll move you between Anfi Del Mar resorts but not Tauro. Also Pam has moved Puerto/Beach and Gran/Beach all with no problem.
Our moves have always been very efficient, and whilst we normally go away somewhere on the day in reality we could have moved back in by around 1pm. We have car so normally I’d go to say Puerto Morgan or Maspalomos and then get back to Anfi later in day.
I do think Anfi’s move service is excellent and no charge either!
Kind regards, Brian
