    Hi Robert
Pam & I have taken tea bags, and herbal & fruit teas, and coffee, many times without problem – usually in hold luggage.  Have also taken porridge in plastic bag without problem.
I have occasionally taken fresh fruit and some dried food, though perhaps the former could be  a problem if noticed.  I think you can move fruit within EU but am not 100% sure

My better half, Pam, is out from tomorrow for 10 days.   Useful to see your recommendations

Hadn’t heard about Black Pan, near Valentinos.   Nor Zona Verde in Mogan

And Vivaldis in PR by the harbour something to try.

I saw on later post you said the new Aquarium, in Las Palmas is good

Did you do the helicopter trip  and a trip to  Firgas & Teror?

    Hi Angus

The problem that William has identified is really about how the recent posts “list” is wiped out by posts about claims.  And whilst this is due to lack of other posts from members on non-claims topics it does deter non-claims members from engaging with other topics on the site.    By the way, this thread is not a claims thread so William is not “cluttering the Claims Forum” with chatter, the opposite actually!

Your Club has tried to support both members claiming and leaving the club, and those, the vast majority, who are happy with Anfi and continuing ownership.  Your Committee had agreed to run a claims section of the Forum to help those members exchange views, though in reality it has tended to dominate posts in last year or so.

    Hi William

A delayed reply from me as been unwell for last week or two.  I would hope that your club can accommodate a range of opinions on different topics, and I personally welcome the review and feedback you have made whilst at Anfi. If only more people could take a little while to send feedback we would have many posts every week covering restaurants, things to do etc.

On later posts you may have seen that a separate claims forum is being established.  The problem with current posts is two fold:-
1 – the recent activity list on the right side of the web page gets dominated by recent posts and if from the claims issues this is only the activity showing
2 – members need to support the website more, like you do, by  posting more on their visits, on average we have 60 to 100 members visiting Anfi  each month and a brief post from many would add so much to or site.   The information from owners is so important.

I do hope you might look at the site over the coming months and hopefully other members will follow your example by posting information from visits and perhaps encourage you to renew your membership.

    Regards, Brian

I’ve looked on the Morgan council website and can’t find information about the footpath, so be good to hear anything you find at Anfi.

Last month Anfi announced the release of the Anfi app, and gave details of what information it provides – see below.

    —————————
    Anfi announced:-

We are ready to launch the Anfi Group’s official App!

Available on your mobile phone or tablet, Anfi members can enjoy our new “push” notification service to keep up to date with the latest news and “what’s happening” in Anfi.
In the Members Area there will be updated information related to quality ratings, ongoing works, payment details and other important information such as the timeshare calendars.
The Anfi Vacation Club also shares its virtual catalogue on the App and Points members will be able to consult Points balances and transactions realized.
There is also access to our videos and photo gallery as well as to the latest updates from our Anfi Ambassadors and VIP visitors.

And this is just the beginning! The launch of the first phase of our official Anfi App will be updated with further phases to incorporate new functions and latest news to keep you in touch with your home from home in the sun!

As Em says I did try to get a new balance by posting regularly over the 3 weeks when I was at Anfi, but the claims tend to get peaks of posting activity which then take up all the “recent replies” items  – if we had a more regular flow of member reports, restaurant reviews and trip ideas, then there would be a better balance to the site

The restaurant reviews are all grouped under link below for the onsite ones, the offsite are under the second link
    https://anfiukmembers.co.uk/forums/forum/anfi-del-mar/anfi-del-mar-bars-and-restaurants/

    https://anfiukmembers.co.uk/forums/forum/gran-canaria/restaurants/

though if you feel things are not easy to get to, please let me know and I’ll see if we can rearrange the format – I’m looking at putting restaurants into alphabetical order to make easier to find

Also worth bearing in mind on the My Club page there are two tabs – one for News items we publish, and another for “Recent Forum Activity” which lets you scroll back through posts and is an easy way to scan back and skip over posts that aren’t of interest

Thanks for your update and I agree with earlier comments that we could do with more member reports like yours

Whilst we do have a section on website for member reports (https://anfiukmembers.co.uk/my-club/member-stories/) it doesn’t seem to get used that much and I was thinking that a new Forum section would be useful and perhaps encourage more members to send in updates form their holidays at Anfi & will also allow other members to post comments and updates against the points made in the report

If anyone has any thoughts or comments on how to improve feedback I’d be very keen to hear them

    Regards, Brian

In case you didn’t get notified, Easyjet have now released schedules from 4th February 2019 up to 24th March 2019.    Flights from 25th March to 22nd June 2019 will be released this October

You can register with LowCostRoutes.com to be notified the evening before the flights go on sale, which could be worthwhile especially if you are travelling over the peak price school holidays over Easter, May bank holidays or Summer half term in 2019 and want to get in at lowest price.

Information from LowCostRoutes.com on Easyjet flights released tomorrow 12th April:-

    ———

Easyjet has announced that they will release the flights from 28/10/2018 till 03/02/2019 on 12/04/2018.

Easyjet has not announced the precise time of the release. They have only communicated the date. The last 10 major releases happened during the night or early hours (between 5:30 – 07:13 UK time), but not all the flights were available at that time. Some flights were released a few hours later, others (a very small number!) a few days later.

Keep in mind that the last few releases were made in a tricky manner: the flights were not available among the regular search results from the first moment, but you could book them if you knew how to find them! This intermediary phase lasted for about an hour, so if you want to book your tickets asap, you probably want to learn how to do this and not wait until the flights are available among the regular search results, at a higher price! I provided a detailed explanation in the blog article you can find at http://goo.gl/1oI6CW .

    Hi Angus
I do recall mention of an affinity pool!  I may struggle on documents as haven’t seen them for years and we had a major house extension just finished, so nearly everything is boxed up on and offsite, but I will have a look.

Off topic, but for context, Pam & I were actually also on P&O Britannia cruise and flew out to St Lucia, and came back to Southampton 20 days later, last Friday – last year we did a 2 week cruise on Britannia in Caribbean.  We didn’t have any problems this year, or last, and quite  a lot of people we met were booking up onboard for 2019 and 2020 – sorry to hear you didn’t have a good experience.

    Hi John
Angus may have exact dates as he mentioned the work is during May when he is at GA. The Monte pool work took 6 to 8 weeks, though the individual Monte pools are smaller than the Puerto one.
So I’d suspect work is finished by end of June or early July.  Perhaps Anfi are trying to finish this before the summer school holidays start.
I’ve looked on Anfi’s website and there is nothing at present that gives the pool dates.  When the Monte pools were done and Pam & I were due out there, we did have a notice from Anfi about the pool works and arrangements.

I’d suggest an email to Customer Services will get you information on dates.

    Kind regards, Brian

Odd how we had opposite sales experiences as I bought before Gran Anfi was complete, and there was definite exclusive use of pool area. Also there was the extra pool that was to be built in what became the mini golf area – I still, somewhere, have the sales reps notes and sketches about this.

It has never bothered me that much, other than been spun a line, as we enjoy our time at Anfi and shared use isn’t an issue for me.  And I can’t do much about it.

I did have my contract checked by a UK solicitor soon after we got back, and was advised it didn’t guarantee much, and I could have cancelled, but we were sold on Anfi and my only regret is the more recent loss of value on points owners as resale is nil. Wish I’d gone fixed weeks resale, as we have with later purchases.

Sunbed wise – very irritating I agree – if any consolation I came back recently from cruise round Caribbean and across Atlantic, even when we were only 2 days from Southampton and about 8c outside, guess what – towels on some of sunbeds with no one in sight, whilst nearly all the other sun beds are unused – and had to be someone British too as P&O.

    Hi Angus
I’m a points owner at Gran Anfi and certainly was sold at the time, many years back, that GA would have exclusive area!     However this clearly hasn’t been the case since it opened and there has been reciprocal access from Gran Anfi to other Del Mar resorts and vice versa.

Each of our resorts will have pool closures over time and it does help to be able to use the other pool areas as well as the special beach access that Anfi offer the affected resort users.

I often use my Gran Anfi points to book time at Beach and I often see Gran Anfi towels on the Beach sunbeds. you will also see them in Puerto and Monte. So GA people are using the other resorts.

Overall, whilst it can be irritating, it does seem to me to be in the best overall interest to allow reciprocal access – and actually when I’m at Beach I would never really walk all the way to Gran, though evening at Monte is attractive and we sometimes meet up with friend there.

How on earth would you control access to each resort if only for “members”  when many activities are in the resort area by the pool area

    Regards, Brian

    Hi Sean

I’ve looked on various sites online and can’t find any reference to JLCA or issues – was it a news item you read? –  or an opinion/gossip on another website?

Quite a few members are using JLCA and would no doubt be very keen to know the source of the information you mentioned about “closing down” as the posts above and google search cannot find anything to back up what you have read or been told.

As mentioned above they clearly close over Easter.

    Hi Alec

I believe Anfi have always had this policy and send out this information when you enquire about selling/buying a week – the rationale being that if a week is committed then a new owner may not agree the commitment after Anfi transfer the ownership i.e you need to “own” past the date when you have committed use of your apartment.
I don’t really see why the commitment couldn’t be recognised in the  transfer of ownership, however it doesn’t sound as if this isn’t a new policy and it applies to fixed as well as floating week owners – unless anyone knows different??

Perhaps you could reverse the commitment in 2019 to release the week prior to selling?

Do let us know how this works out as will be of interest to anyone selling.

    Regards, Brian
