and part 3 for Tenerife, just out today – as well as photography “hot spots” these articles give a good idea of interesting places to visit

(and if you want to read about a camera lens that cost as much as an Anfi apartment, direct from Anfi – look here !! The latest from Nikon in 2018.)
09/01/2018 at 5:56 pm #19847I went to the newish national aquarium in Malta last year, it was really good and had some special features for children, hopefully the one in Las Palmas will cater for all ages too – the Malta one also does a behind the scenes tour, more for adults or teenagers, and they show and tell you about a lot of the support work that goes on to make the aquarium work. Amazing to see.
Hoping to take my young grandchildren to the Las Palmas one when we are all out later this year.

NB more detail on this site from yesterday http://thecanarynews.com/2018/01/08/the-poema-del-mar-aquarium-attraction-opens-with-eight-captive-sharks-and-350-marine-species-in-tanks/

07/01/2018 at 6:35 pm #19693Hi Rebecca
Carolyn is absolutely right and you can message or contact John via his Anfi Del Mar Facebook group
https://www.facebook.com/groups/2366863977/Your club has a rentals section – you can go from the menu or this link – if you are after specific weeks please see the Search option at top of rentals page as lets you click the week(s) you are interested in to quickly see what is there (anyone renting points or floating weeks can only be seen currently by scrolling through the weeks in the normal view)
There are a number of sources of weeks
- your club advertises week from members
- Facebook on John’s Anfi Del Mar group, and another Anfi Contracts and Rentals group advertise rentals, as does the Anfi GB group.
- a number of other 3rd parties who are commercial operations offer weeks
Hopefully you’ll look at your Clubs weeks first – we do have a good record of renting out over 80% of adverts and you know you are renting from another member!!
Also you can ask for a week on our rentals wanted section – link – I put on a post recently and had a couple of replies including Leif Erik Larsen who has several fixed weeks including 39,40 and 41, one bed, two bed and Penthouse, and also Penthouses in week 12,13 and 18. If you look on the wanted Forum you’ll see quite a few replies to posts.
Kind regards, Brian
07/01/2018 at 5:44 pm #19682Hi Robert, I found that there is still a WordPress site for them, though info stops 2013 and the people you dealt with were still managing it then.
https://visionsoftheworld.wordpress.com/
and also Jason is on LinkedIn – he was MD and owner of Visions of the World until Nov 2013. Then from Nov 2014 is Website developer and and manager for a leather belt and buckle company – change of direction! There is no info about what happened to Vision of the World
https://www.linkedin.com/in/jasonclowrey/Though on timeshare talk clearly some issues up to early 2014, which perhaps was clincher in people stopping using it, or them closing up? His name appears on one or two other complaints sites, and he seemed active up to 2013.

05/01/2018 at 6:43 pm #19591Any members who go please update with your views.
Thanks, Brian
NB
have also read that:-
- said to be one of the biggest in the world. According to TripAdvisor the owners Aqua Park in Tenerife is the best Aquapark in the world and Loro Park (also theirs) is the best zoo in the world
- has the second biggest single viewing window in the world after one in Japan
- tickets are around 18 Euros each
05/01/2018 at 4:58 pm #19579I think you were lucky Robert – I found this RDO item about Visions of the World when they were asked to step down from RDO a few years ago after complaints, and failure to refund when instructed, misleading practices etc.

01/01/2018 at 6:39 pm #19330Anfi posted the following update in December on their website:-
“Our IT department are working on an Anfi App so that members can have information from Anfi at the touch of a phone!! The project will be undertaken in several phases and the first phase is almost finished and we are working hard to launch it as quickly as possible. It will be easy to use and very useful especially when staying on site and wanting to know what’s on and where!”
So hopefully we’ll see something soon

31/12/2017 at 3:29 pm #19278Hi Trevor
Glad it helps. I just paid my fees today, and when you get into the payment processing option it offered me a 1.094 exchange rate for paying in £’s rather than Euros – I paid in Euros using Post Office credit card, so don’t know if you pick £’s whether any other fees are involved.
I’ve just checked my PO card online and the rate given is 1.126 – for every 1000 Euro’s spent that saves about £26

31/12/2017 at 11:45 am #19261there are some posts from 2016 & 17 about various cards – see topic below

31/12/2017 at 11:45 am #19260Thanks for updates – I’ve put a separate thread for the Cocktail Bar with some picture from when it opened
https://anfiukmembers.co.uk/forums/topic/the-cocktail-club/
31/12/2017 at 11:37 am #19259Hi Roger – wish I was there!! Just replying to bring this to top of replies list in Forum to make it easier for anyone out there to see your offer
31/12/2017 at 11:35 am #19258I’ve copied over from another post an update from Roger Byatt on the Cocktail Bar:-
“opens from 18h00 to midnight and features live music. It is shut on Wednesday. I have not had a drink there but it seemed to be well patronized.
Next to it is a new development with a sign saying Children Playground. They seem to be installing a trampoline, a bungy bounce frame and a driving course. This is, presumably, commercial and is leased from Narval but it is nice to see the land in use”
31/12/2017 at 11:25 am #19256Currently some clubs for mini golf are with Paul Stewart – see Facebook below and posted at 10a.m. today – he is only at Anfi until tomorrow tea time
https://www.facebook.com/groups/2366863977/
There was another set of clubs with some Norwegian owners – you’d need to search back on the above link to find them on the Facebook Anfi Del Mar group

30/12/2017 at 10:17 am #19210Update – the Morgan Council have announced the road is opened for traffic in both directions from 29th December, a week ahead of schedule. Global bus company have reinstated services that were affected by the closure.
The road remains closed to pedestrians whilst work on the walkway continues – the council expect this work to finish at the end of March.
Council online news item:-
“The City of Mogán will enable, at approximately 6:00 p.m. this Friday, December 29, the opening to traffic between Arguineguín and Patalavaca along the GC-500 road. The Consistory will open the traffic in both directions a week before the initially planned.
The pedestrian crossing is forbidden since the work of conditioning, reinforcement and rehabilitation of the pedestrian promenade attached to the GC-500 is not completed. However, vehicles can already travel in both directions with a speed limited to 30 kilometers per hour and taking into account the signaling that is on the road. ………. read more on the councils website
18/12/2017 at 2:22 pm #18843There is an updated guide from Julie Jordan on the pro’s and con’s of making a claim – not strictly relevant to this contracts forum for non claims, though may have useful info for members looking at options – follow this link to claims forum and the post about the document
Members may also find useful the document Julie published last year about divesting oneself of a timeshare contract – see above post from June 2016.

13/12/2017 at 12:27 pm #18671For my own flights mid October 2018, Easyjet seemed best from Gatwick – just over £115 each including 23kg hold luggage & booked seat.
Easyjet Plus seems very expensive at £119 per year on top of air fares, and the only way I could see to get speedy boarding – though it includes a number of extras for within the package.
Just need to wait for Easyjet fares to be released for November to get back!!! – as options with TUI and Thomas Cook are expensive – must be something driving up prices around 5th November, even Norwegian indirect flights are more around that date

12/12/2017 at 10:21 pm #18631Been looking for flights next October half term as my son and family are joining Pam & I at Anfi – real rip off prices!! Even Ryanair from London, around £1500 for that week for 2 adults and 2 young children.
By adapting days slightly got a better deal, but really do feel for those on the school holiday schedule – major flight cost increases
Having a son and daughter in law both teachers, and oldest granddaughter just starting primary school, makes Gran Canaria in school holiday so expensive – crazy prices.
Going via Madrid or another airport does seem to help over direct fight prices – see skyscanner.
Brian
12/12/2017 at 10:09 pm #18630Sounds good, Pam is back in May, me not until October!!
If you are still there next Sunday try the jazz evening, was good music
Brian
12/12/2017 at 9:54 pm #18629Had member report about the bar – see below, yet on Facebook seemed to be lots of interest – have any other members been? While Pam & I visited in November it was not full, but busy.
Odd that Anfi published a new guide to restaurants & bars while we were out, though did not include the Cocktail Bar. Is definitely worth a visit to see if you like it.——————–
Whilst here on holiday I see there is a new cocktail bar. Has a nice balcony overlooking the grass area next to the marina office. The musician plays every night. Nice setting but a great shame it is empty every night. Not sure where all the members are as Anfi does not seem busy.
07/12/2017 at 8:04 pm #18463Worth looking at Liverpool as well, I looked at weekend for my sister in law and Liverpool have some better flight times and prices for the Saturday flights in May we were looking for.
And I’m told the car parking at Liverpool is not expensive
Brian
28/11/2017 at 7:41 pm #18189That’s a good step for some of our members, or their children who are struggling when the owners are older and not able to travel and enjoy Anfi.
Whilst being god to be released from ongoing maintenance obligation, be good if any pay back for rest of period or value of the week is considered – in my dreams!!
