Being a points owner like your mother, I do suggest you look into options.  Turning over to Anfi for no return seems a worst case option.
On your direct question Anfi normally take weeks back after 2nd year of non payment. Though they will talk to you about hand back.

For now you could turn points into an actual week(s) and rent that out to cover costs, or a small profit if popular weeks. Short term you can cover your maintenance costs
Also please remember that 1 weeks points at Gran Anfi are about 1.5 weeks at Beach Club, so look at options if renting.
Our Anfi UK rentals weeks have 80% success rate, more so in popular weeks, so very likely you can offset costs, as via points you can get weeks that floating weeks struggle to access.

On legal options much has been posted on the Claims part of this website
Please think about what is best for you before you hand back to Anfi.   Though the claims route will take some time at least you may regain some of the many thousands of pounds your mother must have spent, including in the cooling off period

Pam & I are out later in October and not sure whether to risk trying this or walk 10 minutes to Valentinos, or the others near Valentinos, which have always been great over last 15+ years. We have avoided on-site food after several disappointments.

Lets hope it is positive. Could mean a combined hotel and timeshare operation, which may work OK – have seen elsewhere.
May even get rid of sales if they let spare rooms as hotel!!

I was at a timeshare resort in Malta a week or two back, Azure for a Radisson Blu resort in Malta, and they told me they had the same problem with other companies advertising weeks at the resort, when they weren’t available. They said this was tactic to draw response, then the company advertising says that the week has gone and tries to get them to book something else. So not just an Anfi issue.

Yes for a 2 bed is 6 max, including children over 2

Children under 2 are not counted toward the 6.

If you’ll exceed the 6 suggest ask Customer Services first, not sure if flexibility

For last few years I’ve always taken my own small sharp knife as the Anfi ones never seem sharp.  Last year I found a shop in Arguineguin that sells a small & lightweight sharpener for a few euros, so I just keep that in my suitcase now to sharpen the Anfi ones.

Very useful feedback.  I’ve updated the index which shows on the right hand side, hopefully better as shows more of recent posts and then the topics that have recent activity

I’m also looking at various add ons to the bbPress forum site which might give us more features.  For navigation if you click on the Forum index at top right, or any of the “Forum – main sections” beneath that, it does give the main Forum sections, but I will continue to look at whether we can get a better drop down structure – I have not found that yet with bbPress

On our points at Gran Anfi we get 12 months ahead, if we book at Monte or Beach etc is 10 months ahead

There is premium version of contract that allows you 18 months into your main resort, much like David described – if buying be very careful what you sign up to, as does not always tie in with what sales tell you!

Hi Robert – thats correct, they were closed in May when we were last out as they are mainly family run and all go off together, and open up sometime in July – shame as they do great steaks and fish, and are good value

Pam recently advertised  a rental week and put on Facebook and on Anfi UK – we had 2 enquiries from the Anfi UK advert – the first only fell through because the enquirer had an offer of two adjacent weeks, and the second enquiry has just confirmed and paid deposit.

Pam has rented out every year for over 6 years and never failed to get a success via the Anfi UK site, including one at very short notice.

The new software your Club brought in late last year as part of the new website does make the service more “self service” than it was, though this involved a cost to set up which is being paid back over a few years in the accounts. And we are working to further improve layout. It already has a  search facility so people looking for specific weeks can just search for these, without trawling though ads.

The figures on rentals adverts that Steve keeps do show a high success rate for adverts. Over 70% of the 110 rentals posted for 2017 to date have been rented out.

I appreciate the attraction of free adverts, but the cost your Club charges is actually very low in relation to a weeks rental, though the Committee is as always open to members feedback on how these services should be handled and priced going forwards.
Also for resales your offers an Escrow service at no charge.

At the Monte apartment we were in, 711, it had microwave with grill – though we did not use the grill on our last visit, the one we used at Beach Club last year was a reasonable grill though not as powerful as a normal cooker with full grill on

I don’t recall it having an oven feature, unless perhaps Anfi swapped version of microwave on later replacements
