Hi Robert
I’m back from Anfi now, but pretty sure there is a timetable on the Anfi Vacation Club window near Monte reception – recall it runs a few times in morning and then later afternoon. Perhaps reception of AVC could confirm for you – or one of Emerald owning members.Monte reception email is cmonte@anfi.es & they may well be able to confirm for you
If you do get confirmation be good to share that

27/05/2017 at 3:37 pm #11736Went again last night for our last evening meal before coming home on Saturday. Again excellent food. Pam & I shared a goats cheese starter from the daily specials menu. I had whitefish and Pam had piglet, both very good. Followed by a shared tiramasu.
Bear in mind you normally get as complimentary course before starter, which can be filling, as very tasty.
It was again fully booked with one or two tables free after 9, and number of people turned away before then. Met a couple who said this was their 4th visit in the last week.
I’m going to need to work very hard on allotment next week to shift those pounds gained in last two weeks

27/05/2017 at 3:25 pm #11734Hi Angus & Jean
Sorry didn’t get to meet as time flown and we go back today. Tried Puerto Vista restaurant for lunch, had hot chicken sandwich & chips. Drinks were brought out straight away. Sandwiches under 10 minutes. Quite a portion and 1 would be enough for two. All better than I expected. I’ll cross link these posts to the relevant restaurant forum ones so members can see latest views.

27/05/2017 at 2:46 pm #11732Hi Wolfgang
On my Android phone I’d need to press the “person” icon at top right, then an option is to log out.

26/05/2017 at 6:52 pm #11698Went there last night and good food and service. Pam & I shared a tapas starter, then Pam had rack of lamb and I had a fish course, both tasty. Then a hot raspberry dessert.
Views from restaurant of the sea and the sunset are great. Only downside was one very noisy table, but very peaceful once they’d left.
If you want a balcony table they say to book 2 or 3 days ahead. I booked on the day and we got the last table in the restaurant for an 8 p.m. table.
The restaurant is uphill from Patalavaca roundabout – we got taxi there 3.20 euros – and walked back and took 25 minutes to get back to Monte
There are a couple of other restaurants along the same road near Palm Garden, so if anyone has been to those please post a review, or post your views on Palm Garden too!

26/05/2017 at 5:57 pm #11697You’ll find the offer stapled to your Anfi pack when you check in. Do let us know how it goes!
26/05/2017 at 5:53 pm #11696By the way the key cards from Gran may be working now, I was talking to someone within the mini golf area a couple of days ago, and they had come in from the Gran entrance. I’m at Monte so my card won’t work but maybe one of our members at Gran can check and let us know
26/05/2017 at 5:47 pm #11694We’ve walked round the minigolf area a few times in the last 2 weeks. The heaps of stones on the course holes have been removed, and most now have a new green circle filling the old hole. Though some have the original holes open as they used to be.
The area is nice to walk round and has seating if you want to sit quietly away from the main Anfi areas. Also lots of fish in the pools within the mini golf area, and look out for the 2 lizards near the entry area.
Today there were 4 groups of people actually using the course. Don’t know where they got the clubs from. Also 2 groundsmen giving some of the greens a very thorough sweeping, getting up all sand and leaves. Haven’t seen it being cleaned like this since it closed. Can anyone here next week keep us updated.
26/05/2017 at 9:01 am #11681Copy of golf offer attached. 50 Euros including clubs, buggy and 6 balls. 25 Euros for the Par3 course
Valid 27th April to 30th September
Sport shoes allowed
25/05/2017 at 6:23 pm #11657It had always been busy the last two weeks, and it was last October when we were out.
Even after 10 last night people were queuing to buy.
Last year my 3 year old granddaughter was dragging her Dad over to buy her chocolate ice cream as a deserved desert after eating all her dinner
25/05/2017 at 6:06 pm #11655Beach still closed off today. We parked at Amadores and walked as far round as we could
25/05/2017 at 5:53 pm #11653When we checked into Beach Club they hand out an offer for just over 50 Euros for golf, this seems to run through the off peak season, as Doreen mentioned above
25/05/2017 at 5:30 pm #11650Went last week and as always lovely food. Booked again for our last evening tomorrow.
They always have special as well as the normal menu. Pam has lamb which was great. I had Tuna coated with seeds, which was well cooked but not my best choice, white fish tomorrow!!
Best to book upfront as they do get busy. Last year they were booked a week ahead.
25/05/2017 at 5:22 pm #11648I see Heidi’s was very busy on market day last week, we haven’t been able to go on this trip but interested if anyone has been recently

25/05/2017 at 5:19 pm #11647We went there a few days ago. As good as always. Had steak on the daily special for 14.95 Euros & was excellent.
24/05/2017 at 5:09 pm #11626The offer was via an affiliation link on AnfiDelMar on Facebook – the email I got on registering was from email below. The link off Facebook didn’t work when I just checked it now. They may do direct if you email them
comunicacion@maroaclubdemar.com.
I’ll see if we can get our own Anfi UK affiliation link
The offer is:-
With this new card you will have the following promotional discounts: 50% discount in sunbeds (monday to friday), 10% discount in all our regular services (breakfasts, snacks, lunchs, dinners). Additionally, if you want to have dinner at Maroa, you will have a free bottle of house wine (for 2 persons)*
If you can´t pick your card up during the next days, don’t worry, it will be waiting for you whenever you come to Maroa. You will be informed about all our promotions for this year.*Not combinable with any other offers.
24/05/2017 at 4:50 pm #11624Hi Robert – You can do in advance. I registered online a few weeks ago (though it only took them a day to confirm). I’d need to look up how I got link, maybe Facebook
I don’t know if they do onsite at Maroa reception, but they’d lost the label for me and just hand wrote a label out and stuck it on a VIP card
They have hundreds of labels printed awaiting collection

24/05/2017 at 4:42 pm #11623I’m not a great wine buff, but read on Facebook yesterday that the Lyng labelled Rioja in the Spar store is very good.
In the Spar store at Anfi today they have two Lyng Rioja reds on left as you go in, one just over 6 Euro, the other 8. And a white at under 5.
Once you find some good ones, do share. Or maybe, like Which, have a “don’t buy” !!
23/05/2017 at 7:18 pm #11580Hi Angus & Jean
Hope Tapas goes well for you – we are going to Cabosuroeste this evening which was very good on 2 visits last year. Valentino’s was good and Liam recommended that too. Before you get to Valentino’s the blue logo’d Sagitarius fish retsurant is very good value – only 15 minutes walk from Anfi.
Palm Gardens in Patalavaca gets good write ups but I haven’t been yet. Also, but closed this month and next, is Cueva Pirata in Patalavaca which is excellent. Cose Com Sei in Puerto Rico is brilliant.Shame that Montsemar next to Radisson is closed, though the first Montsemar in first tower block before Radisson is still there, but was more expensive, though very good
Agree that ice cream outlet is excellent
We are in Monte 911 until Saturday – be great to meet up – am out on a road trip part of tomorrow, so will check with you when we get back
Regards, Brian & Pam
NB Yesterday we went up north to Arucas and rum factory, excellent trip!! On way back stopped at El Mirador shopping mall south of Las Palmas, and in there on first floor, is Miralmar cafe, had fresh bacon baguette, and Pam had chicken & bacon baguette and we had chips, plus 2 coffees – all very good for only 10.30 euros in total.
Amazing value and quality, and really quick service23/05/2017 at 4:50 pm #11572Hi Liam
Pam & I use the Hyperdino that David mentioned as well as the Spar in Arguineguin – they are both good.
If you have a car Hyperdino has underground parking, turn left at the roundabout past the Spar and then after about 10 meters turn right into the underground car park – and remember to get exit code from the till operator in the store
If you don’t have car then Hyperdino deliver free if over 60 euros otherwise 4 euros delivery ( I think )The floors above Hyperdino are sadly pretty empty – only an optician and a travel company. The optician is very helpful and last year fixed Pam’s glasses which needed new screw in frame for free

23/05/2017 at 4:32 pm #11570At Beach Club last week and the gardens are looking even better than our last visit last November. Lots of flowers and the the trees looking good. The gardeners were giving bushes near the ground floor apartments a (very stiff) pruning, but then went round treating all the cut branches.
They do seem to be putting a lot of attention into the gardens and they look great – maybe more seating round the gardens would be good to get quite places to sit in shade or sunThe pond also seems to be doing well with lots of fish and a few tortoises – great for the young ones to look at as well as the oldies!!
Regards, Brian
23/05/2017 at 4:23 pm #11569In Monte this week and the new glass shower screens are great, a big improvement – though the shower temperature is a bit hit and miss
The maintenance standard seems a little below what I’d expect as the sliding doors to the bedroom are hard to open even pulling hard with both hands. Washing machine not rinsing fully. TV bracket very hard to move. Water lukewarm yesterday morning.
My impression is the Beach Club apartment we just moved from has a bit more close attentionAnd I know the pool work has to be done, but Anfi appear to have done little to try and get more sunbeds in the remaining area. Also the management letter says work from 9.00 with noisy work from 9.30 – on Monday the were working from about 8.20 and using digger to shift material which of course beeps loudly each time it reverses – easy to hear even on 9th floor
Talking to someone who’d used the beach sunbed vouchers and these only cover you for the standard beach sunbed and parasol, if you want to use the “Anfi” VIP ones I’m told you have to pay 8 Euros extraBy the way, know the flower boxes are being worked, on but mine are full of dead plants, looks awful.

23/05/2017 at 4:12 pm #11568Wasn’t impressed the other day, just went to get an ice cream, mid afternoon, ignored for several minutes, then waitress said no service for ice cream, and come back in 20 minutes.
They only had 2 table with people at them and 4 customers in total – maybe just a bad moment, but very poor service.Anyway I went to the new ice cream bar and that was great !! A firm favourite now
Regards, Brian
23/05/2017 at 4:06 pm #11567Tropicana is now closing at 7p.m. – such a shame to see it all closed up through the evening
I see they have a breakfast buffet offer and wondered if anyone had tried it? I’ve used Moroa when eating breakfast out so far on this trip
Regards, Brian
23/05/2017 at 4:01 pm #11565Pam & I have been twice in the last 10 days for breakfasts, which have both been good. AVC members get 10% off.
Also anyone can register to get a Maroa VIP card which gets you the 10% off breakfast and off a a range of their other offerings
Regards, Brian
