We have been watching this topic with interest. We, rightly or otherwise, think that this is one way that Anfi is using to ‘update’ contracts for their benefit. If it was just a matter of adding children why not just change that. Surely it cannot be legal to change other aspects of the contract at the same time without it being pointed out that this was happening. We were suspicious from the start when we were in Anfi before Christmas and there was a lot of pressure to add family members. We all know that now, sadly, Anfi do not ever do anything other than for their own sake which after 25 years of going there really makes us disillusioned.
We have booked to go to Anfi in 2020 and yesterday when my husband tried to change the weeks he was told that the vacation club could not talk to him as he was not on the contract. They insisted on talking to me and I changed the weeks no problem. When I pointed out that our weeks have always been jointly owned and my husband has been responsible for booking weeks for the last 20 years I was told not to worry but to ‘pop in’ when I am in Anfi this coming August and I could add him to the contract for free!!
This is despite having ownership documents for both our weeks in joint names and Anfi having dealt with us both over the last 25 years. We have always been joint on the Contracts (but use my email address) and for the vacation club (ditto) and actually get the maintenance bill in my husband’s sole name, so can not help but feel that this is yet another ploy to change our contracts. So sad to see Anfi resorting to such underhand tactics and to stop my husband from being able to book through the vacation club is surely illegal.
Will continue to watch with interest and definitely will not be signing anything without taking advice as we have no intention of adding our children as they are not interested in taking over the weeks.

Our concerns were that if we do there would be a change to our actual contract as per the post from Diana and Steve but also whether, by adding children to the Contract, in the event of us wanting to resell if we got to the stage we were unable to go, would Anfi start chasing our children for maintenance as they would then, presumably, become jointly liable.
We also got a letter from the CEO of Anfi Group Jose Luis Trujillo warning against law firms trying to get people out of their contracts, which we have no interest in anyway, but also to contact Customer Services if we have any questions as they ‘would rather talk to us about the options available than us becoming involved in unnecessary legal processes.’
If we did want to resell because of legitimate reasons (old age, illness etc.) could Anfi claim that any children added be liable for maintenance. We see this as a possibility and, if people do add children to avoid paying for a guest certificate, could this come back to haunt them?
