This is such a complex situation that we committee members ask members to back us so that we can do whatever is necessary to get Anfi into a finally legal and workable organisation where we satisfy the law, allow members to trade their weeks in a resale program when circumstances change and help Anfi to survive as a business. But we need to convince the management that the past greed of the owners has to stop so that Anfi and its members both win financially and can survive so our children and grandchildren can enjoy what we do.

‘On Wednesday 14th and 21st June we are having and open meeting for all members of all nationalities at Maroa at 1700hrs. It is hoped to live stream this on Facebook. Please post any questions you want answered here or email me at richardw@anrichvets.co.uk or on Facebook so that through the live feed or attending the meeting as many members as possible will have the information required to convince members to vote resolution for no 1.

CLA have tried to promote a “no vote” but this does not resolve the situation. Remember that these legal organisations make their money by bringing claims against Anfi. The more people claiming the more money they make. It’s not “no win no fee”. You pay their fees win or lose. Good money after bad. Bringing Anfi down is a no win situation. There is a bottom to that pot. Bankrupting the company will get claimants nothing and leave the rest with no holiday resort to go to.

So I implore members to vote for resolution no 1. Do not waste your vote by not voting and rely on us, your committee members to fight with every breath we breath to keep Anfi alive and to get a deal for members that will allow you to be able to get out in a resale program that is not slanted against the member.

We have noted that time is extremely short as I haven’t received my Monte papers yet. We are suggesting to Anfi that they should change the rules and allow voting by PDF documents as post is too slow. We’ll let members know next week if that suggestion is taken on board.

‘Sorry not been on forum recently but I will watch it in the days to come. Check out FB please.

Hi William

Likewise hope your wife makes a speedy recovery and sympathy with missing Anfi break.

I agree with all sentiments re negativity on this forum re Anfi. I sincerely hope that news we may have in the months to come will be encouraging for the future benefits of members. Watch this space and I’ll keep members updated on developments.

Glad Gran Bahia is open and the paella looked good. Back in June so will give it a whorl then.

I’m at airport on way home now I’m afraid. But as was on boat did not have a key to go in and check. Last I heard it was being refurbished and is not finished yet. It is being taken over by Maroa I believe so should be good when finished though will be more like Monte and Tropicana due to marked reduction in custom in recent times. Back in 7 weeks for committee meeting but you will have been and gone since then. Sorry I can’t be more helpful

Enjoy you hols

At Anfi at the moment for Easter. Great weather and food as good as ever most of the time. Been turned away from Bella Pasta, Il Poncho and Maroa even though not full because kitchen waiting times will “be over an hour”

Totally understand the frustration of the claims topic.

It does seem (as a grumpy old Luddite) that social media brings out the worst in people. Mostly it’s bad news that makes people post and pay attention rather than good news.

This forum went through a bad patch some time ago with a lot of aggressive posts. It has now gone to the opposite extreme.

So let’s hear your fun stories

If I have a complaint today I sit on my boat and can’t hear myself read or my wife talk ( that’s the upside 😂) because of the Pirate ship at 100 db.

I do hope that in the next few months I may have some good news for members. Please watch this space and I’ll let members know when something exciting happens.

Beach Committee Meeting 16th February

As this was the first meeting for Beate and me we intended to keep it simple and ease our way in gently. Jens, the existing member from last 3 years took the chair. However, simple it was not to start with. Management raised an issue with Beate Stahl. They identified that, as a lawyer, she had some connections with members wanting to sue Anfi. Anfi felt this was a conflict of interest. This was news to both Jens and me so we took time out to discuss the matter. As management were very reluctant to have any meetings where a committee member was a lawyer, we had no option but for Beate to offer her resignation, which she did. The next candidate who lost to Jens by 3 votes was asked to join the committee. Dag Finn Eraldson (Norwegian) was asked and accepted the position and will join us in June. We look forward to working with him on the committee in future.

The work on the Fire installation updates has now been completed.

Glass shower doors continue to be installed and members are really noticing the difference.

There is still no update on the sunbed mattresses but we will be chasing this again before the June meeting.

The carpets and cushions have all now been replaced in all 1 and 2 bed apartments.

The resurfacing of the car park, whilst in need of some repair, is not a high priority at the moment due to the high expenditure in recent years. It has been decided to look at this again in 2018.

Work has now started on the repairs to the surface of the path to the Tropicana. We are hoping this will be completed quite quickly and I will report back in June.

The Tropicana has been losing money due to members using restaurants in the updated plaza. As such it has sometimes had no-one eating there in the evening. It is to change hands shortly and will be run more along the lines of the Monte Vista bar as a bar and snack bar.

Despite the high expenditure in recent years the replacement fund is quite healthy. With careful management it should still be healthy in 25 years time when the next tranch of hi cost repairs can be expected.

This is what was finally put to Anfi this months. All comments welcome and I would urge those interested enough to bombard Anfi with emails supporting the production of an app.

*********************

The following list of 19 points has been put together following input from members over a two month discussion period.
Points 1-10 are viewed as the bare minimum an app should produce to benefit both members and the Anfi organisation.
Points 11-16 are also viewed as vital points but members would be happy if an original launch of an app was to include 1-10 with an undertaking that points 11-16 were being worked on and would be launch in the following six months.
Point 17 may go against the past Anfi sales policy but in today’s climate of distrust which has cause in excess of 150 members to sue Anfi for in excess of 10m euros, if would be a pragmatic way, with majority happy members support, of encouraging old and new members to buy more weeks.
Follow that on with a good resales and rental program in points 18 and 19 and Anfi has the perfect package keeping it at the top of the Timeshare Industry
However, Anfi IT does not have the skill or enthusiasm for this task so it should be outsourced. And that includes the requirement to tidy up the Anfi database into one modern system able to sustain the requirements below. The five clubs could be persuaded to fund this expenditure through the maintenance fee thus actually costing Anfi nothing.

Mandatory Essential Requirements
1. Anfi contact details phone and email for key personnel in management
2. Member ownership details and contact numbers
3. AVC details including points deposited and available as per web site now.
4. Invoice information and payment dates for special offers, discounts and latest payment. What if, any, interest charges should payment be late. Reminder of the last date for booking/carrying forward a floating week for that year. It falls sometime in September I think but the exact date varies from year to year depending on the timeshare calendar for that year. If you don’t carry forward a week by that date you lose it, even though you have paid maintenance. Set a preferred payment method that is remembered as default if required.
4a. Link to exchange rate so that members can set a figure to prompt best rate to pay maintenance.
5. Payment link for maintenance fees and guest certificates
6. Link to committee members of their clubs for communication purposes
7. Calendar for week numbers
8. Calendar for committee meetings and OGM’s
9. Annual Accounts and general papers/members questions with facility to print.
10. E-voting for OGM so OGM is paperless unless specifically opting out

Must Have Additional Requirements
11. Online booking for floating and points via webpage and ideally app
12. Book your Anfi transfers to and from the Airport
13. Ability to book tee off times at Tauro Golf and pay at time of booking
14. Link to book Luis Molinos sports activities
15. Link to restaurants to book seats and take away and see menus
16. AVC activities and services that can be booked and what the points value is and ability to book them

Members Would Like To Have
17. Option to purchase weeks from Anfi (without the sales babble we all hate)

Wish List to Complete The Package
18. Resale of second hand weeks
19. Rental for unwanted weeks

Monte Meeting 13th February

The february meeting was relatively uneventful.

All the glass shower doors have now been installed in all apartments

All the furniture in the 1 bed apartments has been changed and they are starting the 2 beds in 2017 hopefully completing this year.

The pool has finally been given Town Hall permission and is being started 24th April and should take about 2 months. Members staying duyuring that time are receiving notification of this.

The machinery room is needing refurbished. This is being researched this year with the intention of getting permission to action the works in 2018.

The flower boxes continue to be worked on throughout this and next year. This is a massive task as they have to be emptied, dried out re-lined and then refilled and new flowers planted. We are going back to geraniums in the hope of returning to the overflowing colourful blooms that they were when most of us first purchased at Anfi.

There possibly going to be changes at the front concession. Narval may lose the concession but at this time we don’t have any facts. There is a possibility the tennis courts will return soon but not the football pitch. The mini golf is rumoured to be reopening but not anytime soon.

The matter of health and safety on the front was raised yet again to ensure there is no doubt about our concerns vet this.

I have finally got access to the new site. Yeeeh😎

I would like to thank all members from all the countries who voted for me. I am very touched I was worthy of so much support. I will do my best to continue the good work done by Saverio, Mary and Jens in recent years. Whilst I cannot make promises, I will endeavour to use the power ABC is supposed to have to get more integration between members and management. My first task will be to follow up on the fact that Anfi are supposed to be developing an App. With this initiative it will be important that they develop it for the members benefit and not just for themselves. However, a little patience is needed until we find out whether Lopesan will ultimately own all of Anfi or remain as a minority part.
