Well.
After eating there last night, I would agree with the positive reviews.
The place was certainly busy enough, with most of the tables taken.
We had starters of Prawn Puri and Chicken Pakora. My wife said the prawns were very tasty. My Pakora was nice , although 2 of the pieces of chicken were more like strands of chicken-a bit thin for pakora.
For mains I had Chicken Madras and my wife had Chicken tikka masala. We both had the option of Medium or Spicy sauce- we both opted for medium. Both curries were nice enough, but I reckon Taj Palace in Puerto Rico was slightly nicer.
It’s early days yet, and I think that showed with some of the waiting staff, but i would certainly go back and good to see an Indian restaurant back at Anfi.
12/12/2024 at 3:21 pm #117267Just an update regarding a Currensea card.
I got one of these cards before we went to Anfi in June. I used it for the full holiday and found it absolutely flawless. When I used it, mainly through Apple Pay on my phone, I got an instant notification of the transaction, the transaction exchange rate and their estimate of what I have saved versus a ‘conventional’ debit card.
Whilst I am not qualified to offer any financial advice, I would certainly recommend it, based on my personal experience. You don’t have to top it up and it just seems to work in the currency of the country you are in.
Since I got this, my own bank debit card (Bank of Scotland / Halifax) now no longer charges ‘overseas fees’
When I went to pay my maintenance yesterday, I compared both. The difference between paying with my regular debit card and the Currensea was almost £40-in favour of the Currensea card. Whilst my regular debit card might not charge fees any more, it certainly doesn’t give the best rates of exchange.
My regular debit card was exchanging around 1.17, whereas the Currensea was almost 1.21.
The currensea App tells you exactly what the rate is at that time-using its calculator function.
For me, it was a welcome saving and, I hope this info helps others.

Robert
02/12/2024 at 9:06 pm #116670I had the following reply back from FNTC. I hope it helps others.
Dear Mr Dickson.
Thank you for your email.
I can confirm that there has been no data breach from FNTC and that we do not operate “awaiting action” registers of any sort.
If you are/have been suspended you would have been notified directly by Anfi in the normal course.
Unfortunately, as you note, there are many companies of this type who acquire resort member lists illegally and then make various spurious claims. Our advice is that you should ignore them and put down the telephone immediately.
26/11/2024 at 10:16 pm #116486Thanks Roger
I’ve dropped him an email, I’ll let you know if and when he comes back to me.
Regards
Robert
26/11/2024 at 11:50 am #116475Hi Brian
What I was curious about was they said it was on the FNTC Register, who are obviously the Trustees for Anfi, although that’s maybe just a name drop in order to mean something familiar with me. They mentioned they were a ‘dispute management’ company.
Probably just the usual scaremongering rubbish.
Thanks
Robert
15/10/2024 at 8:31 pm #115197Hi Caroline
Although I’m not vegetarian, I do agree that many of the menus haven’t changed in the 15 years we have been going-apart from the price.
15/10/2024 at 8:26 pm #115196Thanks for that Brian, I must have missed that.
Personally I use Affinity Photo-it’s on its 2nd version now. Been using that for a couple of years-it’s a one off fee for that particular version-they also do a free trial.
For cataloging , I have just started using Adobe Bridge-which is absolutely free.
Again, there are multiple YouTube videos on both of these.
Hopefully this helps someone else.
23/08/2024 at 5:48 am #112929We just booked again last week for next June.
Ryanair from Edinburgh. Only about £120 saving from Glasgow prices this year, but much more favourable flight times.
Ryanair gets you back into Edinburgh around 4pm whereas Jet2 gets you into Glasgow at 3AM!Thats a no brainer for me.
23/06/2024 at 1:53 pm #110188This is now called the Tiki Bar.
I only visited it once for a quick coffee when I managed to meet up with our commitee member Brian.
23/06/2024 at 1:39 pm #110186I had hoped to try this as Valentino’s was closed, but it was closed until 15th June also.
Next year perhaps.
23/06/2024 at 1:38 pm #110185Been dying to try this place for years but it’s always closed when we are here in June.
Need to try it in January
23/06/2024 at 1:36 pm #110184We had our 20th wedding anniversary meal here and as usual, it didn’t disappoint.
Great food, service and value.
Probably my favourite restaurant at the moment.
It’s closed now until October, although they said they ‘may’ open in September.
23/06/2024 at 1:33 pm #110183Despite being disappointed a couple of years ago, we decide to give them another bash.
It was worth the visit, if you’re in the centre-give it a go.
23/06/2024 at 1:31 pm #110182Was disappointed that Valentino’s was closed when we were here-apparently the first time they have been closed in the summer, ever.
11/06/2024 at 7:47 am #109578Almost Brian.
we are only at Anfi until Saturday and then we will be in Puerto Rico for a few nights-going home on Tuesday morning.Regards
Robert.
10/06/2024 at 6:12 pm #109557Does anyone know if Valentino’s is closed?
I’ve tried calling the last couple of nights to book, but it rings out.
we passed today at 5 and it was closed.
google (which isn’t always accurate) says it’s temporarily closed.
just wondered if anyone had any more info.Regards
Robert
08/05/2024 at 10:44 pm #107632Thanks Brian
Unfortunately there was no availability left in January when I called back yesterday and spoke to someone else, so we’ve had to swallow the extra cost of the Jet 2 flights which are more than double the original Ryanair ones in order to fly on our original booked week.
still peeved at the service from Anfi though.
27/02/2024 at 10:36 am #104841Thanks for doing that Brian.
There certainly seems to be plenty of choice out there at the moment.
I’ll let yo know if I choose one, I think the attraction I have to the currensea is that I don’t have to top up or open a new bank account.
Regards
Robert
19/02/2024 at 12:58 pm #104445To be honest, I know Ryanair are an easy target for a lot of people, but I have found them fine.
I priced going from Glasgow with Jet 2 and it was £278 rtn p/p before any legroom seats or check in luggage. Ryanair from Edinburgh was £89 for the same.
Many people are mindful of the pennies just now and that’s just too good to knock back.
Regards
Robert
19/02/2024 at 11:21 am #104441Has anyone any experience with the Currensea Mastercard Debit card? It seems good value and has great Trust Pilot reviews. I think what makes it different from other cards like Monzo and Starling is that you don’t have to open a new bank account, it just links to you current one. They have a free card and a premium one which is £25 a yr and also an elite, which I think gives you certain lounge access.
They are advertising their ‘premium & elite’ exchange rates today at 1.1710 and their free card at 1.1652.
For comparison, M&S walk in rate today is 1.1293.
It looks good, just wondering if anyone has had experience with it.
Regards
Robert
