We have 2 floating (Resale) weeks at Gran which we can book 12 months in advance.

    Hi Brian

I think Cueva Pirata is another one that’s never open when we are there in June.

I decided to sell my weeks a couple of years ago and then changed my mind.

I advertised here and paid the fee. I also advertised on another forum, which did not have a fee. From memory I got around or 6 or 7 enquiries regarding my weeks. I asked each of them where they saw the advert-every single reply was that they saw it here!

I hope this info is of some use.

    Hi David

Isn’t Monte affiliated to Interval International whereas the others are RCI?

I tried a couple of dates on the Sunshine website, but with no availability.

If anyone else has any success I’m sure we would all like to know.

    O.K

    Here’s mine.

    1. El Gaitero

    2.Valentino’s

    3.Happy Valley

    4. Cosi Come Sei

    5. Fernando’s (Even though they were closed this year when we were there.)

We really need to look at some of the other ones that Liam has mentioned in Arguineguin, although I’m not sure if any are closed when we are there early/mid June.

    Hi David

    What’s your top 5?

    Hi Liam

I haven’t found any new gems but we wanted to try Palm Garden but it is closed when we are there in June.

If I remember correctly, you started the ‘Top 5 Restaurants’ thread a few years ago. I still think that was one of the best threads that has ever been on here.

I’m sure peoples tastes and experiences have changed, perhaps we should start the thread again ?

This may sound like a silly question, but would Continental Trustees be able to tell you what apartment & week you have attached to your contract?

We haven’t been contacted by a rep since around 2010/11, from memory.

However, we felt it was busy this year with reps showing people round, they seem to take people to Puerto Vista for breakfast now, where previously they would descend on Gran Bahia.

We flew out on 5th June from Glasgow with Thomson. The basic price was around £325 each, by the time you add on baggage and extra legroom seats the total was over £800!

Someone at work checked flights to LPA for the same day and they were £69 each on the same flight as me! I noticed there was a fair few empty seats on the plane out. Unfortunately we have to book flights well in advance because of work, so I can’t take a chance of the lottery of getting a cheap late flight, or not.

Unfortunately my wife took unwell and we decided to leave 4 days early. We booked Thomas Cook flights back and they were only £42 + luggage-I’m sure it could have been worse.

We tried to book here last week only to be told it was closed all week due to a family celebration.

We never ate here as it looked as if nothing had changed.

There used to be a menu board at the far entrance which has now been removed. Always looked very quiet, which is a kind of put off for me.

Has anyone received any actual money in their bank?

if so, how does it compare to legal fees spent and original purchase price?

    Hi Brian

As Liam said, it is next door- you would have to have walked past it to get to Cosi come sei.

I think it was slow roasted,as it came off the bone without much effort. Not sure about other dishes not on the menu though-it might be worth dropping them an email.

We have only used it for a lunch baguette or sandwich since I decided not to give Tapas Tapas my money but we have enjoyed it and the service has always been with a smile.

We ate here last night and had a great meal, good service and very nice place indeed.

I had the shoulder of lamb, I called 2 days earlier when booking to ask for that, as it’s not on the menu.

My wife had the braised beef ravioli with mushrooms and truffle oil. We expected it to come with 3 bits of ravioli, as per master chef, but there was plenty of it and it was beautiful, as was the lamb.

We hadn’t been for a few years but wished we hadn’t waited that long.

Ate here last night and was as good as ever.

I see I was the last one to review this time last year, surely someone else must have eaten there also?

Don’t bother with the Lyng white, 2 sips and poured the rest down the sink.

We found one at just under €6 called Breckin Valley-worth a go.

Ate here last night and enjoyed it just as much as in the past.

We found the whole centre very quiet.

Still hard to fault the food and service. Definitely one of our favourites, if not our favourite.

We ate here on Monday night and noticed they have changed the menu a fair bit.  They seem to be pushing burgers quite a bit as the menus says ‘steakhouse & burgers’

They have quite a ‘Tex Mex’ selection now and it’s the first steak house I’ve been in that doesn’t offer a fillet steak-unless I’m mistaken!

I went for the boneless chicken thigh, which was nice although the accompanying potato wedges were just dreadful-they seem to come with quite a lot of the things on the menu. My wife had a different chicken dish which was nice, but came with the dreaded wedges.

We saw a few burgers coming out and they did look nice, so we will go back and give them a bash. This was probably our favourite on site restaurant, but I will post back regarding if this remains the same

Although I am not affected as I am an owner at Gran, would it be o.k to pop along to Maroa?

We went yesterday for a quick takeaway snack.

Food was as miserable as the woman serving at the counter.

Don’t think I’ll be giving them any more of my hard earned money-even for a snack.

    Hi Brian

I’m all booked for the golf for tomorrow.

There is a free bus runs from Monte, Gran reception gave me a copy of the timetable.

When booking they asked me what my handicap was, not sure if that’s a requirement.

I’ll post tomorrow and let you know any other relevant info.

    Regards

    Robert
