Photos from a member at Anfi showing work in the Gran Anfi area near the Puerto Anfi pool.
The whole area had been excavated about a year ago to allow access to plantroom area underneath the Puerto pool
I could really do with some items to go into July newsletter – even if just a sentence or two that might be useful to others – and if you’ve been at Anfi recently a short update for other members would be great too (I can pull some info off this group as well) – and some photos would be great for Court to put into the Newsletter – please can you help?

Yes I did notice that booking.com were offering weeks – over the years Anfi weeks have been seen on booking.com though often when you click through there is no availability and just options for somewhere else (& excepting some of the Tauro area that is outside of Anfi’s resort management)On the latest offering it does look as though there is availability on booking.com – what we don’t know yet is whether that is being offered by Anfi or someone else (though you have to think through how guest cert and cancellations etc would work if not Anfi)
It could be surplus Anfi Sales weeks that are being offered especially as Sales are said to be restricted on not selling to “new” clientsI saw some availability in June and July when I looked a few weeks back – be interesting to see of the weeks from late Oct are offered as clearly sought after.
Also did you see the price being asked – quite high!
Let us know if you see more on availability – or perhaps other members have booked!!

The draft Minutes from the last OGM are on the 2021 meetings page – apologies for the delay.
The revised constitution is on the webpage for the Club’s constitution.
The next OGM will be in 2023.
(For newer members, the Club operates under a constitution, committee members are elected on rotation at each OGM, and the Club published its accounts and reports on its activities – we do have gaps on the committee so please do ask if you might be able to help in any capacity.)

My wife Pam was out in May and did not fill in locator form – Pam says the Covid certificates were only spot checked and when she went through at Las Palmas airport & only for a few people – there have been a few posts about this on our FB group too in similar vein.
If you look on the Canaries government tourist site – https://www.hellocanaryislands.com/a-safe-destination/travelling-to-the-canary-islands/ – and scroll down to the bit about travelling from third countries and non EU citizen – it says you need either a valid digital certificate or to fill in control form

1. 2. IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING FROM THIRD COUNTRIES AND YOU ARE NOT EU CITIZEN
Passengers must meet the following requirements:
Control form or Certificate EU-COVID. You can check here the validity of your EU digital certificate. We recommend completing the form digitally, including all of the necessary documents in order to speed up airport checks (fast control). If you are travelling on a cruise ship, this is the form you need to complete.
Certificate of full vaccination against COVID-19. Accompanying persons under the age of 12 are exempt. Residents of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland travelling directly from their country must arrive in Spain with a vaccination certificate or a Certificate of recovery.
Passengers aged 12 years or older and under 18 years can submit a negative PCR test, performed 72hours prior to departure , if they are not properly vaccinated.
In addition, a Diagnostic Test of Active COVID-19 Infection will be required regardless of vaccination status or prior infection, for third countries at high risk only. Antigen tests taken a maximum of 24 hours prior to departure for Spain and NAAT tests (PCR, TMA, LAMP) taken a maximum of 72 hours prior to departure for Spain will be accepted.

Does depend what type of food and level of spend you are looking for – ones Pam & I like includeIn Patalavaca near the roundabout
– in the places near the pharmacist is Fernandos – very good value, good food, and very busy when we went last November – best to book as people waiting for seats most of time we were there. They cook some items in centre of restaurant
– and the Chinese near to it was good– and if open, as they close for family holidays around June – just past Patalavaca is Cuerva Pirata – lovely steaks and fish
– Palm Garden above Patalavaca
and below Patalavaca at sea level
– Valentino’s
– Sagitarrius (had live music Sunday evenings)
– Montesemar (one near Valentinos not one in apartment block near Anfi)Do let us know what you visit and which you find good!!

I hope you have a good time – I have a couple of ideas from members on our Facebook group about things to look for if you haven’t been for a few years and will put the ideas together and post on the forum
If you get a chance to post anything while you are at Anfi or a short article for the July Newsletter that would be great!

The Taj Palace at the marina is the cheaper one
You’ll find the old area of Puerto Rico shopping centre has been renovated as well

Definitely worth a look around the Mall – from the restaurants in the Mall you get a good view of the fountains in the evening and some evening they have live entertainment – or did when we were there Oct/Nov (& Pam says some entertainment a few weeks ago when she was there)
The Taj Palace in the Mall is quite good as is the steak place next door to it – there is also a Taj Palace near Puerto Rico marina and Pam says that has same menu and cost about 1/3 less
There is also a cafe/bar right near the fountains which does great coffee and nice looking food – and a nearby ice cream bar next to Hyperdino
In Mall shops are various chain shops – also Lefties good for clothes – and a kids games shop on the lower floor along with a homewares shop & more clothes shopsOpposite the mall and above the Spar are bars and café/restaurants that mainly open up in evening – you can park in the underground car park there and it was free last Oct – you just have to get ticket validated before you leave on the machine on underground floor – in fact we used to park there to get to Mall shops as easier to walk out and cross road compared to underground in the Mall (depends which end of Mall you want)
Spar has good fresh food as has Hyperdino – Spar also has a wine room and a beer room – in beer room they were doing free samples if that’s of interest!! and they have a huge range of beers and wine – at end of Spar is Spar health shop – probably needed after the beer and wine 🙂

Members have asked about seeing a list of enquiries made for their adverts – work is still ongoing with rentals development work, but one improvement ready now is a new link in your members “view” of the advert that lets you see enquiries made. If you have adverts and it doesn’t matter if they are old adverts as long as they are there, nor whether expired or paused or live please look at your MyAdverts page – https://anfiukmembers.co.uk/my-adverts/

The Q&A document with information from the meeting is on this link – please note on item 6) voucher expiry, the vouchers currently expire at end of Dec 2022 & whilst Anfi may extend them we feel it is safer to assume they will expire as any extension would not be decided until later this year
I only have brief notes from the meeting (see below) and if you recall anything that is missing please let me know
- The agenda was revised as Richard was delayed by traffic and no content for the Gran section until after the meeting
- A brief intro was made for members to committee members who were present on the call at beginning of the meeting
- Voting papers and incorrect completion for Puerto elections – G McMahon suggested we put info on website (we have sent out before each election by email)
a) we do email out before election though the content is always provided a few days upfront, and
b) we risk that the process is changed by Anfi at next election
c) it presupposes many will look at the webpage before filling in their form
Committee to consider options for additional info to members on completing election forms
a point was made about votes and number of weeks owned and variations between resorts - Tony mentioned the play areas at Beach and Monte being reworked and petanque being played near entrance to Tropicana
- Christine and Pete Anderson mentioned Beach report and items arising
- Geoff gave Puerto update and answered questions arising – see Q&A notes
- After Richard joined he gave updates on Beach and Monte and a general update from Richard and Geoff on Lopesan and ownership
- Brian to update the Q&A document issued to members with info from the meeting and email to those attending
- Another meeting will be held after the June liaison committee meetings – aiming for July – date tbc
Cose Com Sei was a long time favourite of Pam & I – they closed during the pandemic and I think the family went back to Italy

Am attaching a couple of photos of the work starting at Monte children’s pool this morning. With luck no more drilling!Looks like a separating membrane being put down ready for laying the (tiled?) surface finish.
They appear to have created a drainage channel around the pool. It will be interesting if this will have a grill or just run under the paving.
Will send latest update photo Monday before we leave.

Cannot work out what is happening to surrounds, they are now cutting back another shallow trench, previous ones concreted in so could it be waterproof concrete.
